Walls
The core concept of Redplug’s Red-Stop™ system is cavity wall remediation. We do this by taking over the heavy lifting of missing, misplaced, and displaced fire barriers at compartment lines and around openings at doors and windows etc. Red-Stop™ is a mass fill system utilising fully compliant and class-A1 stone mineral wool fibres.
External Walls
Post-Grenfell it has become clear that there is a generic problem with ill fitting, misplaced, or even missing cavity wall fire barriers at compartment lines and around openings. This is where Redplug’s Red-Stop™ system comes in. A quick, cost-effective mass fill remedial fire barrier backed up by fully assured fireproof testing in accordance with BS:EN: 1366-4 – 2021.
Loadbearing & Non-loadbearing internal Walls
This is a growing issue and Red-Stop™ has the answers.
Red-Stop™ has been installed in several hotels and multi-occupancy buildings to mitigate fire spread via loadbearing & nonloadbearing partition walls and corridors. Another quick,
cost-effective remedial fire barrier backed up by fully assured fireproof testing in accordance with both BS EN 1364-1:2015 &
BS EN 1365-1:2012.
Partition Wall Voids
Redplug has a growing portfolio of projects where our stone mineral wool has been used to mass fill voids between existing and new buidings up to 1200mm in width and 20m high. Red-Stopâ„¢ has been used on PBSA projects, between buildings and new external lift shafts, and in conventional multi-occupancy domestic buildings.Â
Red-Stopâ„¢ Adding Value
- A cost-effective solution in comparison to alternative options
- Quick, uncomplicated, and seamless timescales from initial enquiry to installation, due to the streamlined Redplug engagement process
- A considerable rate of installation in comparison to brick removal and reinstatement, allowing significant reductions in project programs and disruption to the local area while improving the residents' journey. Typical savings in programming and costs vary between 80% - 400% subject to the scale of the building
requiring remediation
- A solution to local councils’ reticence surrounding the massive disruption caused by major remediation works with road closures, increased volumes of traffic and long timescales associated with these projects
- A non-invasive system, the need for decanting
of properties is typically unnecessary
- The Red-Stopâ„¢ system is clean, efficient, and inert in the environment. Both the material and the packaging are 100% recyclable. The brick removal alternative would use a huge number of resources; firstly, through the removal and disposal process, and secondly, through the manufacturing and resourcing of new bricks and the labour to undertake the works
- Hygrophobic and settlement modelling in addition to condensation risk analysis and improved u values will typically show an increase in overall building performance, resulting in reduced condensation impact on the internal wall fabric and giving a positive improvement in energy saving and resident comfort
